Why it works for this

Every pause, not just the long ones

Tight is preset: any gap over about a third of a second goes. Your words are untouched; only the space between them changes.

No timeline, no razor tool

Nothing clicks or jumps

Each cut is made on a frame boundary with a five-millisecond fade on the audio, so the joins are inaudible and the picture stays in sync from the first word to the last.

Questions

Does it remove 'um' and 'uh'?

It removes silence, not words. An 'um' with a pause around it loses the pause and gets a lot shorter; the sound itself stays, because cutting inside speech is what makes an edit obvious. Most 'ums' are mostly pause.

Will the cuts be visible?

On a talking-head video, a cut in a pause is a cut where nothing is moving, which is where jump cuts are least visible. On the Gentle and Balanced settings, cuts are also kept slightly inside the silence so your mouth is closed on both sides of every join.

Can I control how aggressive it is?

Three settings: Gentle trims only the long silences, Balanced removes dead air without rushing you, and Tight cuts every pause it can. This page presets Tight; change it on the upload card.
